Zzz

We have been asked by The Young Agency to create a suitable track for the manifesto film of Zzz. Zzz is the first circular festival mattress made with recycled materials; a durable upgrade for every festival lover. They wanted us to create a bold and pronounced score that focused on supporting their message. We aimed to also infuse a festival vibe, transporting listeners to the event through sound.

We decided to put most of our focus on percussion and drums. They can be remarkably expressive in communicating a message, which we felt was our prime objective. These instruments have an extensive range and impact and we experimented with different snare drums, bongos, and congas to develop a distinctive beat. After exploring different voice acting options, we casted someone with the right voice for the message. The timing of their voiceover became our guide in adding rhythmic elements. Once we had the foundation, we added more melodious instruments to make it more emotional and included sound design elements like tent flaps, zippers, and crowd ambiance to create a festival-like atmosphere.
