IKEA x Lowlands

For this project, we were asked to create a soundscape for a 10-minute film designed to transport the viewer away from the overwhelming noise of a festival like Lowlands. To find the right mood and direction, we immersed ourselves in hours of music that evokes introspection and altered states of mind, sounds that carry you elsewhere. It wasn’t just about creating something calm, it had to feel like a journey. The real challenge was shaping an atmosphere that feels both detached from reality and emotionally grounding at the same time.

The result is a layered, cinematic soundscape that evolves slowly over ten minutes, shifting from textured ambient tones to subtle melodic fragments that emerge and dissolve like memories. We blended organic field recordings with processed synths and drones to create a sense of space, distance, and emotional depth. The sound design invites the listener to drift, reflect, and momentarily disconnect echoing the feeling of stepping away from the crowd and finding stillness in the chaos.
