Seven songs composed as a documentary soundtrack that tells the story of Bia.
The Story of BIA follows a 10-year-old Muay Thai fighter from Thailand. His life is shaped by discipline, loss, brotherhood and hope. Each chapter carries a different emotional weight, while remaining part of a single, coherent world. The score was designed to do more than support the images. It carries the narrative: moving with Bia’s daily life, reflecting his inner state, respecting cultural context, and guiding the listener through moments of play, grief, intensity and quiet resilience, without losing authenticity or honesty.
We created a seven-track EP, with each track representing a chapter in Bia’s life. Together, the tracks form one continuous musical journey. The score is built around a shared sound palette combining traditional Thai instruments with organic textures and modern production. Musical ideas return and change throughout the EP, following the progression of the story. We used live recordings, field recordings, body percussion and vocals to keep the music grounded and tactile. Instruments such as the khaen provide a cultural foundation, while guitars, synths, piano and experimental processing allow the score to move and evolve. The music does not aim for a clear resolution. It follows the story closely and ends openly. Seven tracks. One story.
